Episode 13 — Alice moves Bob before he asks
Bob drew his fifth red card in Manila. On her turn Alice, the Dispatcher, flew his pawn to the Atlanta station on his own Atlanta card, then stopped. Bob's next message, written while his prompt still showed him in Manila, described the flight as something still to do. His next action was the cure, from Atlanta: the fourth cure, and the win.
Position
From the replayed board after #163: bob in Manila holding Osaka, Sydney, Ho Chi Minh City, Manila and Tokyo (five red) plus Atlanta; alice in Atlanta, the station. Red was the last uncured disease.
What was said
#161 alice: Bob drew Tokyo(red): he's 5/5, discarding down, and one direct flight from the Atlanta station.
prompt bob, before #165: bob@Manila(medic)
#165 bob: I'm 1 action from the Atlanta station (directFlight spends my Atlanta-blue, cured/fuel). On MY next turn: fly Atlanta → discoverCure RED = all four cures = VICTORY.
What was done
| seq | seat | action |
|---|---|---|
| #164 | alice | dispatcherMove bob, by directFlight to Atlanta |
| #167 | alice | endActions, three actions unspent |
| #168 | bob | discoverCure red, with Osaka, Sydney, Ho Chi Minh City, Manila, Tokyo |
Harness involvement
For each milestone: whether the move was a plan on the seat's frontier (on-frontier), a frontier plan with additions (extends-frontier-line), named in the standing plan (in-pinned-plan), named in another block of the seat's prompt such as a rendezvous route or the cure plan (in-prompt-block), or none of these (seat-originated). Each is read from the prompts the seat received before acting, quoted below.
| Milestone | Involvement |
|---|---|
| Alice flies bob to Atlanta (#164) | in-prompt-block: not on her frontier, whose single line was a Santiago sweep; her cure plan block named bob's flight to Atlanta as his move |
| Bob cures red (#168) | on-frontier: the single line on his frontier |
prompt alice, before #164: sweep Santiago (yellow cured, 3 cubes, 1 treat clears all)
prompt alice, before #164: bob is 1 action(s) (direct flight to Atlanta (spends Atlanta(blue))) from station Atlanta to discoverCure
prompt bob, before #168: cure red at Atlanta — CURE red
The route was the harness's, as bob's move on bob's turn. Using her Dispatcher ability to make it for him a turn early was alice's.
What this cannot show
- How much it mattered. Bob had four actions on his turn; flying and curing take two. The move saved him one action, not a turn.
- That bob's message responded to the move. His prompt still showed the board before #164, so log order here is not receipt.
- Alice's three unspent actions match bob's advice in #165 to avoid any outbreak risk, but her message gives no reason; her recorded reasoning was not looked up for this page.
